Our project history includes huge production complexes built by multi-national corporations in overseas markets to smaller schools and office buildings in our local region. Our specialities include commercial HVAC systems, data center climate control, indoor aquatic environments (pools and spas), and more. See a full list of the manufacturers we represent here.
Importantly, we do our work without a massive staff or sprawling offices. Our success comes from a close-knit, streamlined team of engineers and customer service professionals who maintain intense focus on each project. This tight operation enables us to provide our clients with a great deal of value — lower overhead and efficient communications mean we can handle complex projects with less cost. Providing a good value to our clients is about more than saving money, though, it’s about guaranteeing exceptional quality and customer service. And consistently delivering on that guarantee is what we are known for.
Over the years, products and suppliers have changed, but our clients have remained with us because of our exceptional expertise and service. Of course, we don’t rely only on past successes, so we’re continually refining our knowledge of the industry and pursuing new techniques and products to deliver the very best results.
Quality Applied Systems, Inc. has centrally located offices in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, Indiana. Meet the good people who get the job done below.
Tim began his career working for Schenkel-Shultz as a Mechanical Engineer. After eight years of service, Schenkel-Shultz was going the way of so many large companies and eliminating Tim’s position. So the timing couldn’t have been better for Marc Grostefon to come along and ask Tim to partner with to form QAS.
Tim is QAS’ pointman for chillers, critical environment units, and system application. After 25 years in the business, he knows environmental systems like the back of his hand. Helping QAS establish a reputation as an honorable, dependable, and family-oriented business that cares for its clients and employees has been one of his priorities as president.
Tim lives in Fort Wayne with his wife and daughter. His son, Ross, works for QAS in the Indianapolis office.
Marc received his education in manufacturing technology at Indiana University—Purdue University Fort Wayne, then went on to work as an HVAC engineer for several companies. When he eventually worked up to an administration position he asked himself: “Why am I working for someone else?” And so QAS was born with the help of his business partner, Tim Blauvelt, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
In addition to his role as president of the company, Marc handles environmental sales. With years of experience, he brings an immense amount of knowledge and clarity to every project.
In his spare time Marc enjoys working on cars, oil painting, and photography.

She also plays an active role in her local PTA chapter, where she serves as Secretary on the Board. She and her husband Gary reside in Fort Wayne and can often be seen enjoying all the community events and festivals around town.

After completing his degree, Ross moved to Indianapolis to join Evan Smith where he’ll be focusing on his engineering sales career with dehumidification, precision cooling, and other HVAC applications . In June 2014, Ross married his better half, Natalia to begin their marriage and reside in Indianapolis. Then in January 2017 they welcomed their son Everett to their growing family.
